Amelia's Big Day

Happy Birthday Sweet Amelia!

Dear Amelia Jane,
Where has the year gone? It seems like last month I was holding your tiny little 6lb 10oz self in my arms. Amazed once again at how abundantly God has blessed us. You have been the sweetest joy over the last year. As a matter of fact, we have referred to you no less than a million times as, "she's just so sweet". It's true. Your calm disposition, smiling face, and loving cuddles have made you every mama's dream. If I'm going to be honest, a part of me sadly moves forward for fear that I will miss these sweet baby days. But I know from experience with Gabe & Ansley that it is just as wonderful, in a different way.
I love you,
Mommy

THE PARTY!

We partied with cousin Carlysle who turns one tomorrow April 2nd! How cool to have cousins just 2 days apart! Thankfully, we were able to travel to Mississippi and have a double celebration. Thanks Aunt Andrea for opening your lovely home for such a sweet occasion!

The prep was as much fun as the party. (maybe I should speak for myself! You see, when the party is not at your house, the stress count is waaay lower!) We baked these fun cookies on a stick and pretended to be Martha Stewart while decorating them. They turned out so cute!

And then Andrea came up with this fabulous arrangement:

Needless to say, the cookies were a hit. All the kids (and adults too) picked there own flower or butterfly cookie.

Coincidentally, we had picked out the same cake plates months ago. This double celebration was meant to be!

A little invitation for the baby book.

Awaiting the goods.... I mean, isn't this what they've waited all year for? Their 1st taste of cake!

Singing and Candles...

"this cake is pretty good, but what on earth are all you people looking at? ....do I have cake on my face?"

Playing afterwards, and showing off my "almost-walking" skills.

The partied-out Carlysle

All good things must come to an end.
Saying goodbye to cousins on Monday morning after a fun-filled weekend.

So fun. I think you could give ol' Martha Stewart a run for her money! She better watch out.
