Coffee Talk

Well, there usually isn't coffee, but sometimes after-dinner conversation with a 3 & 5 year old can be pretty engaging. There's the normal stuff, like, how was school today?, who did you play with?, who's the nicest person in your class?, who's the cutest girl/boy?, and other little inquiries that usually stimulate some interesting thoughts or end up on a giggling tangent. Well, Tuesday nights conversation with Ansley definitely ended up in new territory. It went something like this....

"Mommy, I'm done breast-feeding lambie."

I give her a look that says...tell me more...

"I'm weaning..."

"How is lambie eating now?" I ask.

"He's taking a bottle. He likes it."

"Why did you stop nursing?" I ask.

get ready......

"When he was finished, he would bite my nipple!"

I did not see that one coming.

My response was simply..."good reason!"

I LOVE THREE YEAR OLDS! Especially you Ansley!!!!

I love it. It's amazing what kids hear that we say. It keeps us on our toes for sure!
