True Southerner

Every southern girl loves sweet tea, right? This picture was from Amelia's 1st "spend-the-night-with-grandparents" a couple of weeks ago. (sorry for the long absence)

You've gotta love it when grandparents sneak around and do things for your kids that they would never have done when you were a kid. Much less, do things that you would never do for your kids! This is what I caught them doing when I heard giggling in the kitchen. I walked in the room, and said, "What's going on?" and saw my sweet little untainted, nothing-but-breastmilk-ever baby having a taste of sweet tea!

If this were child #1, I might have freaked, but being #3 I have to admit it was kind of cute to see her little face experience this wonderful new flavor! I remember (before I had children) when they were watching my sister's kids and the kids were up at 11pm (ages 2 & 4 at the time) jumping on the bed with a baggie full of fruit-loops. (I think one of them even got a lollipop on request!)I knew then that these were not trust worthy people, but people with a motive...a motive to create rotten kids and return them as if it were some kind of vengeful repayment! ....Or maybe just incredibly loving grandparents wanting to give their grandbabies the joy of anything the parents might be depriving them of.
I remember walking in on Bebe & Bobo giving Gabe a glazed doughnut when he was 11 months old. So much for the first real junk on your first birthday! I guess that's what grandparents are for!

That is too funny! Being that I'm still on #1, I started flipping out when I saw that picture. . . good thing you're so level-headed. And I better not show this to my parents. I'm sure they don't need any more ideas on how to spoil their grandson!

Why is it we don't give them sweets until they have teeth and then the sugar rots them out? They may be on to something here...
